The Summer Of The Bull by Nick Russo

The Summer Of The Bull by Nick Russo

August 2, 2018

The summer isn't over, yet, However, it's already been jam packed full of amazing thanks to the people of Houston and the surrounding areas and 100.3 The Bull! There's been SO MUCH!

As you know (unless you've been hiding under a rock) we helped bring folks out to the Kemah Boardwalk for their Kickin' It Country Concert Series and folks SHOWED UP! The very first week was doused by thunderstorms and rain showers but it did not stop the show! Chase Rice was our first act and he braved the rain as did his loyal fans! They showed up early, waited in the rain, sang in the rain and smiled in the rain!

Thanks to all the @100.3_thebull listeners who sat through the rain to see and meet @chaserice today at the @kemahboardwalk #Radio #Houston #Texas #Kemah #ChaseRice #Music #Rain #Fans

Around the same time, on-air we began our Summer Of The Bull Truck Giveaway where we gave our listeners a chance to win a brand new Centennial Edition Chevy Silverado from Mac Haik Chevy! It was a beautiful truck and over the course of the Summer, winners were given 1 of 100 keys to start the truck and our winner was 24 year old Blake from Katy, Texas!

What’s the best birthday gift you’ve ever received? Meet Blake, his birthday was Sunday and Saturday he got the best gift of his life! This past weekend, he scored a brand new pickup truck as part of the #SummerOfTheBull #Radio #Houston #Texas #Trucks #Winning

Our second week of concerts down in Kemah was David Lee Murphy! He was fresh off his most recent #1 single with Kenny Chesney called "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" and he put on a heck of a show for his fans on the boardwalk. Everyone was singing along all night, something that would prove to be a reoccuring theme throughout the summer!

We paused for July 4th and sure enough it was the raineist July 4th I could remember but it set up perfectly for the following Wendesay night! Russell Dickerson brough his talents to the Kemah Boardwalk and the guy lit up the crowd! From his #1 single "Yours" to his rendition of R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" and "Tootsie Roll" to his latest single "Blue Tacoma" Russell Dickerson was on his A Game! His wife, Kailey, told me to the side of the stage that they fell in love with Texas that night.

Such a great crowd for @russelled at the @kemahboardwalk with @100.3_thebull for the #SummerOfTheBull #Houston #Radio #Texas #Music #CountryMusic #KemahBoardwak

The following week, Morgan Evans made his way down to the Kemah Boardwalk! He is married to Kelsea Ballerini, he's from Australia and he now lives in Nashville where he is hammering out hits! He used a loop machine on stage that gave a very artistic element to his performance that we hadn't seen before! Morgan had the entire crowd singing along to his latest single "Kiss Somebody" and he made hundreds, if not thousands, of new fans that night!

Another fantastic night on the @kemahboardwalk for the #SummerOfTheBull with @100.3_thebull Tonight, @morganevansmusic rewarded Kemah with a musical treat! Uber talented artist! #Houston #Texas #Radio #Kemah #CountryMusic

It wasn't until the following week that things reached fever pitch. Kane Brown drew close to 14k people to the Kemah Boardwalk. From 10:30a to well past 1am the Boardwalk was ALIVE! 100.3 The Bull music was playing over the boardwalk the entire day and as the crowd grew the sing along grew, too! You could hear every single song being sung by the crowd and it never stopped. It was one of the highest points of my entire career to be on stage in front of that many fans at one time and Kane did not disappoint. The traffic, the heat, the crowd, none of that could stop the biggest show in Kemah history from happening!

Close to ten thousand came to see @kanebrown_music last night on the @kemahboardwalk with @100.3_thebull it was unlike anything I’d ever seen. #SummerOfTheBull #Texas #Radio #Houston #KaneBrown #Music #Concerts #Concert #Kemah

Last night (Aug1) we ended the Summer of The Bull down in Kemah on the Boardwalk with crowd favorite, Casey Donahew Band. It was literally, the nicest night we'd had the entire summer. The sunset was gorgeous, the sky was clear, the breeze was nice and it actually WAS NOT that humid! Casey serenaded the crowd with past favorites and brand spankin new music! It was a night we'll always remember!

Casey Donahew was our final act for the #SummerOfTheBull this year and it was the most beautiful sunset of the Summer! Thank you to the 25k+ who came to our shows on the @kemahboardwalk over the last 7 weeks! Till next year! #Radio #Houston #Texas #CountryMusic #Country #KickinItCountry #SummerTime
