I really thought this was a joke when I saw the headline but indeed, it’s not. The emotional support animal trend is running wild in America as doctors are now prescribing the need of an animal for someone’s psychological well being. I support this; particularly, people who have dogs that fulfill their need of safety and comfort.

With that said, when a person has an emotional support peacock,  I can’t help but this is someone trying to game the system.

What happens when the peacock flares up it’s feathers on-board the airplane? That has to hold some sort of flight risk. But who am I to judge? Perhaps, peacocks can be domesticated to the point that it’s a treat to have on an airplane.

Either way, United is not backing down from their stance against the peacock. I don’t blame them, you must draw the line somewhere but at least they’re not beating up passengers anymore.
