I just received a snapchat from a friend about her washing her brand new sheets in contaminated water, and I was like what?!?! So digging in on Twitter I found out that The City of Pearland has issued a boil water notice after a major equipment failure at a water production facility.

Officials said if you live in a neighborhood west of State Highway 288, you should boil your water before washing your hands, brushing your teeth or drinking it.

Also mentioned was that children, seniors and persons with weakened immune systems are more vulnerable for harmful bacteria, and should follow the precautions.

The City of Pearland said it will notify customers as soon as the boil water notice has been lifted. According to a tweet, the earliest they will rescind the notice Friday morning following some required testing.
