The Houston Astros became World Series champions this year, and our 5’6 giant was a big part of it. He also helped our city rally around the Astros at the time when they needed it most, during Hurricane Harvey.

However, the biggest Houston athlete, J.J. Watt, raised over $30 million dollars in donations for victims of the storm, and Altuve made sure his contribution didn’t go unnoticed. Altuve bought 50 bottles of Crown Royal XR for his Astros teammates and coaches after their World Series win, and he sent one to Watt as well to let him know he considered him part of the team.

Watt posted a picture on Twitter with the bottle and heartfelt letter:

Here’s what the letter said:

“From one H-Town brother to another, thanks for all you’ve done this year for the city we call home. Your support for all things Houston – from hurricane relief, to being our number one fan – has been nothing short of incredible. So I hope you’ll accept this fine whiskey gift I gave all my teammates following our championship win because to me, you’re absolutely part of the squad.
