Friday was a HUGE day for the city of Houston.  We kinda all took off work to celebrate our World Series Champion Astros downtown in a little parade.  Bah!  But we can NOT miss another huge event that took place here in Houston on Friday afternoon.

…The Country Music Association was in town and brought a HUGE surprise for your kiddos.

…School may have been canceled because of the Astros Parade, but The CMAs still showed up to announce a major partnership with the Houston Independent School District.

…Over the last several months, the Houston Independent School District has been working with the CMA to implement a district-wide music education initiative.  And Friday’s big announcement came with a surprise visit from one of our favorite country music stars, Luke Combs. Luke is nominated in the New Artist category in tomorrow’s CMA Awards program, but made time to surprise a room full of students, faculty and parents with a ONE MILLION DOLLAR music education grant.  And on top of that, he unveiled another $50,000 worth of new instruments for the kiddos.

…One day, our Houston area students will be on the CMA stage and we’ll have Luke Combs and the CMA Foundation to thank for it! ❤
