On Sunday night, Kirk Head grabbed the home run baseball hit by the Dodgers from his sister-in-law Sarah – and threw it back on the field (a baseball tradition). Social Media EXPLODED calling him the “Rudest Baseball Fan In America” but the story didn’t end there. We then found out they were related and that everything was cool between the family.
But the story doesn’t end there! Last night we learned from Chron.com’s Matt Young that Kirk was interview and had this explanation:
“F____ the Dodgers,” he told Yahoo Sports, echoing the sentiment of a city, although a tad coarse, ready to end this thing on the opposing team’s field on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
When he talked to Young, he was a little more calm. “It’s bad karma to keep it,” Kirk told Young on Sunday night. “You’ve got to throw it back. I was just making sure she did.”
Kirk’s brother, also Sarah’s husband, Ken Head posted a photo on Monday afternoon of his wife standing with his brother -who wears a shirt that says “F That Ball” with the hashtag #throwitback under it.
On Monday, Ken shared that soon other Houstonians will be able to wear that same shirt.
The shirt will soon be for sale via local shirt maker MoMs Prints, according to this Facebook post. They will be available for $20 a pop and for an extra $10 shoppers can get it autographed by Kirk himself.
A portion of the proceeds will go towards Hurricane Harvey relief, according to Kirk.
