Plan To Create 21-Minute Ride From Houston To San Antonio Unveiled

Author: Nick Russo

I travel to San Antonio at least once a month to go see my daughter. It’s a hearty 2:45-3 hour drive down I10 without much interruption but now thanks to a brand new proposal it could be a 21 minute ride!

I know, I know, 21 minutes? Yeah, that is almost like an airplane but these are pods in a hyper loop.

According to Culture Map, “With Hyperloop One, passengers and cargo are loaded into a pod, and accelerate gradually via electric propulsion through a low-pressure tube. The pod quickly lifts above the track using magnetic levitation and glides at airline speeds for long distances due to ultra-low aerodynamic drag.”

The “pod & tube” system sounds a little nerve wracking but I think I’d do it. I mean, as long as it passed all the safety measures required. They say it will travel at close to 700 miles per hour. There is a full on plan to create a Texas Triangle that will get commuters to SA and Dallas from Houston.
