Woman Wins Lottery While Fleeing Irma

People.com claims Tiffany Hatfield, of Ocoee, Florida, recently won a $10,000 lottery jackpot while fleeing from Hurricane Irma. She stopped at a store in North Carolina before buying a $5 scratch off ticket. The ticket turned out to be a winner.

Tiffany tells ABC; “I thought maybe I was looking at it wrong so I had my oldest daughter look at it. She started screaming and we all started screaming. I was so scared I was going to lose that ticket. I kept it in my wallet right next to me and checked it on every minute. It’s still so crazy to me how it happened. It just wound up so perfect.”
