Believe it or not, axe throwing has become a sport. It’s like a cross between bowling and darts and there’s even an axe throwing league! I was fortunate to have Sarah Sed, the owner of Houston Axe Throwing invite me to check out her facility off of 59 and Bellaire. The axe throwing facility is tucked off of 59 on Larkwood and is easy to find.

At first thought, the questions are frequent:

Why do you want to learn to throw an axe?

When would you ever use this skill?

Where would you use this skill?

It’s simple. It’s all in good fun! The place is BYOB but don’t let that get out of hand because they’re not going to allow for drunken axe throwing. It’s a great way to get your friends together to do something¬†different. It’s also a heck of a way to relieve some stress! It’s satisfying to see and hear the axe stick into the wood!

Here’s a video of one of my first throws:

After a few shots I hit the bulls eye!
