We all know that joining social media sites and other things like that, we end up giving up some of our information, but it’s kind of crazy how much your information Facebook actually stores and shares with advertisers.

Like wait how do they know exactly what I like or the type of phone I have? They have this creepy setting that stores this info and this is how you can stop it:

1. Under the drop down arrow in the top right corner of your homepage, click settings.

2. From there, click on “ads” in the list to the left.

3. Under ad preferences choose “your information” then “your categories.”

4. You will then see a list of categories. To remove simply hover over and click the X.

And Facebook literally has an explanation at the top of “our categories” saying “the categories in this section help advertisers reach people who are most likely to be interested in their products, services, and causes. We’ve added you to these categories based on information you’ve provided on Facebook and other activity”

This isn’t going to stop you from seeing ads altogether, but just a way of getting rid of some!
