Hallelujah! I woke up and read this an immediately hopped out of bed to let you know! This proves that prayers do come true! Or someone from the state government has been listening to my private conversations.

Either way, as reported by today, the Texas Senate is voting on a bill that would eliminate annual vehicle inspections! The procedure would save Texans money and the inspections have proven to have no real impact on our safety. Other states have done away with them and have not seen any problems because of the change.

I agree, completely! I mean, let’s be honest, if something is wrong with your car you can go get it fixed and you will get it fixed with or without the approval of the guy at the local tire shop who drove your car around the block. And most of the time, I get the problems fixed BEFORE I go for the inspection so it’s pointless. I dread having to do it every year.

However, in some cities, like Houston, we would still be required to take our car in for an emissions test. Which, I understand, because that has a greater cause than the reliability of our vehicle. We do emissions tests to protect our environment and make cleaner breathing air for one another!

I sure hope this vote goes through because I’ll gladly peel off my outdated sticker in a heartbeat!

If the bill is voted in it would take effect in 2018. Meaning, the 2017 stickers would be a collectors item, kinda.

(Don’t tell anyone it’s outdated, please.)
