Some Things Parents Should Know Before Buying Kids The Unicorn Drink At Starbucks

Parents aren’t the only ones on social media all day long, kids are too. For the past 48 hours, everyone has been inundated with pictures and postings about the brand new¬†Unicorn drink at Starbucks and it’s getting a little out of hand. Basically, it looks pretty, it’s supposed to be amazing and it’s targeting young adults and children who have an affinity for the mythical uni-horned creature known as the Unicorn. The drink changes colors while you drink it so that gives off a special bit of allure but let’s get to the facts.

Well, it’s not just a pretty drink, in fact the only thing pretty about it is the looks because the nutritional facts are downright UGLY. You do not want to give this to your kids, according to the Starbucks website the Unicorn Frappuccino has 50% of your suggested daily intake of fat with a whopping 10g of saturated fat and a total fat content of 16g. 15% of your suggested daily cholesterol intake and all together rounds out at 410 calories!

59 grams of SUGAR!

Why on Earth would you want to give your kids this drink? It’s beyond me. Sure, maybe it’s a reward for doing well in school or maybe you just like to give them a sugar buzz from Hades. Either way, I can’t approve of it but I won’t try to tell someone how to raise their kids or what to treat their kids with but I’d graciously suggest against this treat.

A delicious bunch of strawberries, blackberries or oranges would probably make them just as satisfied but hey, to each their own.

If you haven’t seen the video of the Barista who had a total meltdown after day 1 of the Unicorn Frapp being unveiled then watch it HERE.
