Selena Gomez is one of the most well known American pop stars so it’s not any mystery why anyone would want her to sing with them. In fact, Thomas Rhett, has incorporated her into a new song on his upcoming third album! Rhett is no stranger to duets with pop stars as he recently had a song with Jordin Sparks on his albumĀ Tangled Up.

Selena hasn’t made any public comments about the song or the duet but she is in good company. Most recently, Pink was featured on a song with Kenny Chesney in “Setting The World On Fire” and Demi Lovato joined Brad Paisley for “Without A Fight.”

Aside from Gomez’s recent personal struggles she’s had a fairly majestic career stemming back to her days on Disney and a mega-relationship with Justin Beiber. Thomas Rhett and Selena Gomez fans are on the edge of their seat to hear the single but they’re going to have to wait until the new untitled album is released.

I don’t mind this collaboration but I know the typical anti-evolution-of-music enthusiasts will shade this duet. I think that Selena’s fantastic voice and Thomas’ already pop-tinged arrangements will blend really well together. I, for one, welcome the inclusion of artists from other genres because it gives a wider arena to the depth of Country Music. It really seems like everyone wants to be a part of Country music and that’s not a bad thing. Also, I’d like to add, Selena Gomez is a Texas girl so you know her roots are Country flavored.
