Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day!  At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity.  We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!

Don’t give up, don’t ever give up – we’ve heard that phrase that reminds us to persevere. Kelsey stayed with it and wound up saving the day and the life of a Michigan man.

A guy only known as Bob told Fox news he was watching football on News Year’s Eve.  His game went to commercial, so Bob decided to run outside and grab some wood for his fireplace.  When he went out he was only wearing his long johns, slippers, and a flannel shirt.  Bob said when he stepped off the porch he hit a patch of ice and slipped, fell and broke his neck.

He started yelling for help, but he knew it was a long shot as his closest neighbor was a mile and half away.  So as he lay in the snow, he kept yelling,  – that when Kelsey heard him and she came rushing over.  Bob said he was about to lose consciousness, the temperature had dropped to 24 degrees, he was laying in the snow and he was too much for Kelsey to move.  So she lay on top of Bob to keep him warm and keep licking his face to keep him alert.

Oh did I mention that Kelsey is Bob’s friendly Golden Retriever?

Yep, when Kelsey heard Bob yelling for help, she let herself out of the house and went to him, kept him warm and would not stop barking.  Bob was outside in the freezing snow for 19 hours – when he finally passed out – Kelsey started howling.  Bob said neighbor told him, “She was letting out this screeching howl that alerted him”

Bob was taken to the hospital and was shocked to discover he was free of frost bite.  And through surgery, doctors stabilized his neck injury and his feeling has returned in his legs.  Bob said he considers Kelsey his hero. “Kelsey kept me warm, alert, and never stopped barking for help,” he said. Man’s best friend indeed.

So where ever you are in the kitchen or in the car…can throw your hand in the air, “CAN I GET AN AMEN” for this … Always focused on the good news, and if you ever see a story that would make a great amen email it in at George@thebullhouston.com
