Winter Storm Update: School Closures
By Dorian Valenzuela

Dayton, Texas continues to set records for being home to some of the largest Gators to be seen in the Lone Star State. Just last month a man was able to catch a 13 ft Alligator and this past Wednesday, Gary Saurage and Arlie Hammonds, owners of Gator Country in Beaumont, caught a 13-foot, 8-inch alligator from Champion Lake.

This gator may be one of the biggest in Texas ever, and after catching the 900 pounder, Saurage posted the following on Facebook.

“I have been looking for one this big my whole career. Today we did it! 13ft. 8 inches. Y’all may not get it but this is the pinnacle for me”
