Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
We’re getting ready to kick off BREAST CANCER AWARENESS month – and here on The Morning Bull – you’ll hear us use the phrase “WE HATE CANCER, ANY CANCER” – so when we come across a positive story about early detection in finding certain cancers we love to share the good news.
Three to four days a week in Philadelphia, cancer specialist “Dr.” Tsunami works an a 8-10 hour shift detecting ovarian cancer. Tsunami is a pioneer in the field and in the last 3 years racked an impressive 90% accuracy rate.
The amazing thing is the “Dr.” does it by smell. They’ve found that certain types of cancers emit smells that are hard to detect, but when pinpointed they almost always lead to correct diagnosis. And here’s the other cool part, this research is all going to be featured in a new TV show on Animal Planet. Yes, I said Animal Planet
Oh didn’t I mention that the tag “dr.” is actually just a nickname? In fact, Tsunami is a 3 year-old, cancer detecting German Shepard dog .
Tsunami has an amazing sense of smell, and while her doggies friends are off doing agility, obedience or search training. She is in the lab and has obtained a 90 percent success rate in identify malignancies. There is hope that other dogs can be trained and it will allow doctors to identify cancer patients in areas of the world that struggle to have the latest testing methods. And on top of that Tsunami is just as cute as she can be…
So where ever you are…throw your hand in the air… “CAN I GET AN AMEN”… Always Focused on The Good, and if you ever see or read a story that would make a good AMEN – send in to George@thebullhouston.com – Thanks for starting your day with The Morning Bull.
