You may have updated your iPhone to the new iOs10 over the past couple of weeks and been amazed by some of the new features. Or you may have been confused. You likely are also seeing your battery die faster than ever before.
That’s not all you’re going to see. Soon, you’re going to see your data being used rapidly and that’s going to send your bill through the roof!
A huge part of this is because of a new feature called “wi-fi assist” that uses cellular data to assist your wi-fi connection.
As you know, you usually use wi-fi with your phone to prevent using too much data but this feature is keeping you from saving your data!
Remember, everything you do with your phone in an app takes up data and that can get exremely expensive if you don’t get in control of it!
The “Wi-fi” assist is AUTOMATICALLY turned on when you update your phone. Here’s how you change it:
Go to SETTINGS then to CELLULAR then scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN and TURN OFF wi-fi assist!
