Time for our “CAN I GET AN AMEN” story of the day! At “THE MORNING BULL” we believe in the power of positivity. We believe there are more good people than bad in the world, and we believe that goodness should be celebrated when you find it!
Amelia Meyer, an 8-year-old from Kansas City has brain cancer. Her family said it’s still difficult to say those words. Amelia has undergone chemo, she fought through that like a champ. Friends contacted Make-A-Wish about Amelia and what a good job she was doing fighting cancer. So after talking with Amelia’s doctors and family, the folks from Make-A-Wish told the 8-year-old she could make a wish – anything, anywhere and they’d do their best to make it happen.
She didn’t even hesitate – she said she wanted to go to park. Make A Wish tried to clarify, a Disney park, universal studios park. Nope, she wanted to go to the park by her house and have people clean it up.
SO this past Saturday – Hundreds of volunteers showed up and not only cleaned her park – but Amelia and her WISH Team visited 4 parks. According to Make-a-Wish Missouri, the 8-year-old’s idea was inspired by walks she took with her grandmother after her chemo treatments. They’d regularly pick up the trash that they’d see. Amelia said “It doesn’t look nice…and it can get animals sick,” according to WDAF, about the trash in the parks. “She could’ve wished to go to Disney, she could’ve wished to go on a cruise or go to Europe, and her wish was to take care of the world for the day,”
“It’s a very, very hard time for us but to see this that this came out of that. My level of gratitude is unbelievable,” Jill Meyer, Amelia’s mom, said according to KSHB. “My kid is so happy today and that’s what it’s about and that just thrills me beyond words.”
So where ever you are…throw your hand in the air… “CAN I GET AN AMEN”… – Focused on The Good it’s the Morning Bull with George, Mo and Cowboy Dave!
