It’s very important to ERIC CHURCH that people know he’s real.
So you can pretty much guess what beverage is in his glass when he’s on stage performing his song “Jack Daniels”.
He says, “I don’t think I can sing ‘Jack Daniels’ to them and be drinking milk or water. It has to be Jack Daniels in that cup.
“I think that’s the authenticity. I’m coming there for escapism, too. When I come to that show, I have the same excitement I hope they have when they come to it.”
Drinking hard liquor every single show can tear you up, so Eric makes sure he doesn’t abuse the product, and he never goes overboard.
He says, “It’s something that you have to watch vocally. It’s not something you can just go and do every day, every night. That’s why I try to keep it kind of like the people keep it.”
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been to a few concerts where the artist is clearly wasted by the end of the night. It kills the show. I want the artist to have as much fun as I’m having, but I’m also there to see a great performance…
